We love children and welcome them and greatly value them just like Jesus does. Come as you are, you and your children will be loved.

Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” Luke 18:16–17 (ESV)

Our Gracekidz ministry for children has 3 levels of ministry: Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary ages. We have a wonderful group of loving teachers and helpers who work with the children, and clean, bright, and well-appointed classrooms with the very latest in age-appropriate toys and crafts.

Nursery takes place during the entire church service for babies up through the developmental stage of being potty-trained. They will be loved on by being held, sung to, having the Bible read to them – unless, of course, they are napping! We also have toys and activities for those able to participate.

Preschool and Elementary age children are in the first part of our worship service so they can sing and rejoice in the Lord with their parents. Then, at the beginning of announcements, they are accompanied by their teachers to their classrooms for the rest of the adult worship time.

Preschool Class

The Gracepointe preschool class has two teachers per class time. We use the excellent curriculum called HeartShaper Pre-K & K by David C. Cook. Over the course of two years, the children will have gone through the entire Bible. Each 3- or 4-week unit features a memory verse which is rehearsed weekly in class. The curriculum includes crafts, songs, Bible stories, opportunities to act out the Bible story, and hands-on activities.

There is not a minimum age for moving up from nursery to the preschool classroom. Instead of a date cut-off, we welcome children into the classroom when they meet two criteria: 1) they are potty-trained, and 2) they are able to follow directions.

Children’s Church

Our elementary-age children have a minimum of two teachers in the classroom. We are now using an exciting and stimulating curriculum produced by The Gospel Project which has large beautiful storyboards of the entire Bible story.

Over a 3-year period, the children will go through the entire Old Testament and New Testament, tracing through the history of Israel and writings of the prophets, the thread of God’s promise to send the Messiah, his one and only son, Jesus Christ the Lord. They will learn about the teaching, miracles, and life
of Jesus who died and rose again to save anyone who trusts in Him for salvation. Also, they will learn from the Bible about the early church, seeing Christianity in action.

During our summer months, children learn from the real-life stories of past heroes of the faith produced by the Christian History Institute. They learn about real people who loved the Lord and how they made a real difference in the world for Jesus Christ. Last year’s line-up of heroes included Robert Jermain, Harriet Tubman, Adoniram & Ann Judson, John Wesley, Perpetua (a first-century martyr), William Tyndale, and Cory ten Boom.

Please feel free to contact our office with any questions you might have about Gracekidz. We hope to see you and your children for Sunday worship!
